For a class assignment, my group worked directly with the Albany, Ore., Parks and Recreation Department public relations team. We developed a public relations campaign designed to increase resident and tourist engagement in community events and programs and to increase awareness of the opportunities offered by the department. We focused a large part of our campaign on targeting the growing Latino demographic which is the second largest demographic in the city.
We presented our final project to the department’s public relations team at the end of the school term. Our presentation included visuals and summaries of the work we had developed.
Our strategies and tactics included implementing new classes, monthly events, and rebranding social media accounts.
